A condo tower program is not a single pour or a single piece of equipment. Underground parkades require high-volume boom pump output across wide, open floor plates. Podium structures often involve simultaneous pours across different building sections. When does a condo program switch from boom pumps to placing booms?
The transition depends on the tower height and the reach of the boom pumps we are running on the program. Most boom pumps in our fleet cover floors up to approximately 15 to 20 storeys from street level depending on building setback and access. Once the floor plate rises beyond boom truck reach, we commission a placing boom. We plan the transition with your project manager during the pre-program phase so the placing boom is installed and tested before the first floor that needs it.
Can you run placing boom relocations without interrupting the pour schedule?
Yes. Placing boom relocations are planned in advance and scheduled between pour days to avoid interrupting the program. Our shop crew manages every relocation with a site-specific safety checklist and coordinates with your site superintendent on timing. For programs where the floor cycle is fast, we plan the relocation schedule at the start of the program so your forming crew knows which floors are boom days and which are relocation days.
How many pumps do you typically run on a condo tower program?
It depends on the phase. Underground parkade pours typically run one to three boom pumps depending on the floor plate size and pour volume. Podium slab programs may run multiple pumps simultaneously if different sections are pouring on the same day. Once the tower is underway with a placing boom, most floor slab pours run a single placing boom with a pump truck feeding it from the street. We confirm the dispatch plan for each pour in advance based on your pour schedule and volume.
Do you provide prequalification documentation for condo tower ICI programs?
Yes. We provide WSIB clearance certificates, ACPA operator certifications, working-at-heights certifications, proof of insurance, and safety documentation. For condo programs that require union labour compliance, our operators meet applicable Ontario labour standards for ICI sites. Project references from completed and active high-rise programs are available on request.
