Commercial Slab-on-Grade Concrete Pumping Ontario
Why Commercial Slab-on-Grade Pours Require the Right Pump Pump?
When your project needs precision pumping in tight or hard-to-reach spaces, our concrete pumpings are the go-to choice. Also known as concrete pump trailers, these compact, towable units pump concrete through a series of connected hoses and steel pipes — allowing us to run hundreds of feet of line to reach the pour site. Unlike our boom pumps, which use a large hydraulic arm for overhead placement, concrete pumpings operate at ground level, making them ideal for navigating tight access, long distances, and complex job sites.
We run 2”, 3”, and 4” lines to handle any mix or pour location, including low slump, fiber-reinforced, and specialty mixes with the right hose and tip setup. This flexibility allows us to work efficiently in alleyways, backyards, basements, and interior pours while maintaining safety and cleanliness with fast setup and minimal disruption to surrounding areas.
For larger or high-reach projects, explore our boom pump services for maximum coverage.
Commercial Projects We Pump Slab-on-Grade Excel
Our concrete pumping services are the smart choice for jobs where precision, flexibility, and reach matter most. Unlike boom pumps, which require overhead clearance and have fixed reach limitations, concrete pumpings can be positioned almost anywhere and extended with hoses to reach the exact pour location — even if it’s around corners, inside buildings, or below ground level.
Here are some of the most common applications where our concrete pump trailers outperform other pumping methods:
Basement Floors & Underpinning Jobs – Perfect for tight access sites where a boom truck can’t get close. We run hoses directly into the basement for a clean, controlled pour without damaging landscaping or property.
Indoor Pools – Easily navigate through narrow entrances or around existing structures to place concrete exactly where it’s needed.
Pre-Cast Floor Toppings – Deliver smooth, consistent coverage for large slab areas, ensuring even distribution and proper finishing.
Machine Bases – Handle specialty mixes with steel or nylon fibers to support heavy industrial equipment installations.
Tunnel Repairs – Reach deep underground with long hose runs, even in confined spaces, while maintaining pump pressure and flow rate.
Column & Wall Fills (“Bottom-Up” Pours) – Use our reducing hoses and wall pipe systems for fast, clean vertical pours without air pockets or segregation.
Masonry Block Fill – Our 2” tip hose attachment makes block fill work safer and more efficient, reducing labour and speeding up the process.
We’ve also used our concrete pumpings for retaining wall footings, staircases, balcony restorations, and agricultural projects like barn and silo bases.
If your project demands precise placement without the footprint of larger equipment, our concrete pumping services are your solution. Learn more about our specialized project solutions to see how we’ve tackled challenging pours across Southern Ontario.
Equipment We Use for Commercial Slab-on-Grade Pours
The right pump for a commercial slab-on-grade depends on the footprint, access conditions, and pour volume. We match the equipment to the job.
Mid-Range Boom Pumps (38M to 52M) are the right choice for most commercial slab-on-grade projects. Our Putzmeister 52M Multi-Z-5 and Alliance 50M RZ-5 cover a large pour area without repositioning, with output up to 140 m3/hr.
Large Boom Pumps (50M to 65M) handle very large commercial footprints, power centres, and podium slabs. The Alliance 65M RZ-5 and Putzmeister 61M-5 deliver up to 160 m3/hr and reach across the full width of a large commercial slab from a single staging position.
Trailer Concrete Pumpings handle access-constrained pours, interior slabs, and below-grade work where a boom truck cannot stage properly. We push concrete over 300 feet through a 3-inch or 4-inch line.
Multi-Pump Setup: For extra-large slabs, two boom pumps positioned at opposite ends pour simultaneously. A standby backup pump is always on-site for high-volume pours.

Related Commercial Concrete Pumping Services
We also offer shotcrete, a specialized method of applying concrete with our high-pressure boom pumps. Instead of pouring concrete into forms, shotcrete is sprayed at high velocity through a hose and specialized nozzle, allowing it to bond tightly to almost any surface — even vertical walls and overhead structures.
This technique is ideal for complex shapes, curved designs, and hard-to-reach areas where traditional formwork isn’t practical.
Common applications for our shotcrete service include:
-
Swimming pool walls – Our most popular use, creating smooth, durable walls that are ready for finishing.
-
Retaining walls – Perfect for irregular shapes and steep terrain.
-
Structural repairs – Restores and strengthens existing concrete surfaces.
-
Tunnels & culverts – Rapid coverage for confined spaces.
Whether you’re building a new pool, repairing a retaining wall, or working on a specialized infrastructure project, our shotcrete process ensures a strong, seamless finish every time.

FAQs About Commercial Slab-on-Grade Concrete Pumping
When does a commercial slab-on-grade pour require a concrete pump?
Any large commercial slab where direct chuting from a ready-mix truck is impractical benefits from pumping. This includes slabs where the truck cannot position close to the forms, sites with limited access, interior pours, and any pour where placement speed is critical to maintaining concrete workability and finish quality. For large commercial footprints, pumping is almost always the right choice over chuting.
What size boom pump do you use for a commercial slab-on-grade?
It depends on the slab footprint and access conditions. Most commercial slabs are handled well by a 36M to 52M boom pump. For very large footprints, a 50M to 65M unit or a two-pump setup is more appropriate. We will recommend the right equipment once we know your slab dimensions, site access, and pour volume.
How do you coordinate with our flatwork contractor on placement pace?
We communicate directly with your flatwork foreman before and during the pour. Our operator adjusts pump rate to match the pace of your finishing crew. Concrete that gets ahead of the finishers is a quality problem. We manage the pump to prevent that. If you want us to connect with your flatwork contractor ahead of pour day to align on the plan, we are happy to do that.
Can you handle a multi-pump setup for a large commercial slab?
Yes. For large commercial slabs where a single pump cannot cover the full footprint efficiently, we position two boom pumps at opposite ends and work simultaneously toward the centre. We have the fleet depth to run two large boom pumps on one job without pulling from another active project. A standby backup pump is on-site for any high-volume pour.
Do you work on interior commercial slabs and access-constrained sites?
Yes. Interior pours and sites with limited staging space often require a trailer concrete pumping rather than a boom truck. Our boom pumps push concrete over 300 feet through a hose line, making it practical to pour interior commercial slabs, below-grade work, and any site where a boom truck cannot stage properly. We assess access conditions as part of the pre-pour planning process.
