Since April 2023, Premier Concrete Pumping has been working with Tribute Communities to deliver reliable, high-volume concrete pumping for the Colgan Crossing development—a large-scale residential subdivision located in Colgan, Ontario. The project includes two phases: Colgan (North) and Colgan 2 (South), with our team currently completing the first phase.
This job goes far beyond just houses. It includes schools, parks, sidewalks, culverts, and full residential infrastructure for a new community. For a project of this size and complexity, our team provided full-scope support—from foundation to finish—working year-round and across a wide variety of concrete applications.
Services Provided
Throughout this residential concrete project, we were responsible for all major concrete pours including:
Footings
Foundations
Basement walls
Sidewalks
Garage slabs
Porches and patios
This kind of job is exactly where our residential concrete pumping services shine. We handled both large-volume pours and detailed work requiring precision and equipment flexibility.
Equipment Used
To date, we’ve completed over 90 pours, placing more than 10,000 cubic meters of concrete across the site. The 36-meter boom pump was our workhorse on this job—versatile enough to handle most foundation, wall, and flatwork pours with minimal repositioning. It’s our most frequently dispatched pump for subdivision and custom home sites.
In tighter areas or for harder-to-reach sections, like culverts and deep-access porches, we deployed our 47-meter boom to maintain efficiency without sacrificing safety. We also used our Telebelt system for specific backfilling applications—particularly when placing material around finished wall bases. That setup reduced labor time and helped with compaction in areas where standard methods weren’t practical.
To further support the site crews, we supplied wall snakes (wall socks), making high wall pours safer, faster, and less labor-intensive—another reason why GCs trust us for full-scope support.
Cold-Weather Pours
Concrete pumping on this project continued through all seasons—including winter. We equipped every job with the tools and strategies needed for cold-weather pumping, including on-board air/water systems, warm water mixes when required, and insulated hose management.
This allowed Tribute Communities to maintain momentum through colder months without delays due to freezing temperatures or slow set times.
Project Challenges and Execution
Working on a multi-phase subdivision means coordinating with multiple trades and staying flexible as the project evolves. Our team adapted to ongoing scheduling changes and delivered consistent performance—whether it was a sidewalk pour, school pad, or culvert form.
As the project scaled, our equipment selection, operator experience, and preparation made it easy to adjust pour types and locations without causing delays. Over 90 pours later, we’ve proven we’re not just a pumping provider—we’re an extension of the build team.
Results and Value Delivered
To date, we’ve:
Completed 90+ successful pours
Placed over 10,000m³ of concrete
Supported residential, school, and infrastructure construction
Operated year-round, including winter months
Supplied wall accessories and multiple pump types on demand
This is a textbook example of what we do best: bring the right pump, show up ready, and finish the job clean. With Phase 1 nearly wrapped, we’re ready to continue our support into the second phase of Colgan Crossing.
